Vintage umbrella hat/coat stand freestanding, black distressed shabby chic, black painted coat rack
A freestanding vintage hallway umbrella / hat & coat stand which has been painted in an ebonised style black colour which is perfect for its dark victorian vibe, and then distressed in places to reveal the wooden carved detail underneath. Handy features include a bevelled mirror at the top with the most gorgeous natural antique 'Foxing' showing through as can be seen in the photos, and 6 metal hooks to hang coats, bags or scarves on. It has a fun feature not seen on a lot of hat & coat stands which is it has two wooden arms at the side that when you lift away it becomes collapsible. Popular since back in the 15th Century, Folding furniture has always been so useful because you can fold it smaller to store away when you require the extra space. This umbrella stand also has a metal removable drip tray at the base of it, ideal for resting your brolly in after you've been caught out in the rain!
Measurements:
Height - 171 cm
Width - 51 cm
Depth - 25 cm
Due to its vintage nature and age, it has an authentic wobble in places (partly caused by the fact that it was originally crafted to be collapsible), and although it's freestanding I would advise to secure this piece to a wall using appropriate fixings for your walls, for added peace of mind.
This piece has been well loved and isn't perfect - any knocks or bumps to the piece are there to tell the story of its past :)
*-*- PLEASE NOTE -*-*- FREE POSTAGE FOR LOCATIONS WITHIN A 20 MILE RADIUS FROM MY WORKSHOP IN THE GL19 AREA; PLEASE GET IN CONTACT BEFORE PURCHASING TO ARRANGE THIS --- FOR MOST OTHER LOCATIONS*, SHIPPING WILL BE CALCULATED OUT AT CHECKOUT - Local collection is also welcome, or alternatively feel free to arrange your own courier if you have one that you normally use.
*In some circumstances an extra shipping charge may need to be quoted for certain locations (e.g. Scotland/Glasgow/Yorkshire) due to the higher courier cost of shipping furniture from our workshop location, - I will always try to work hard to keep prices as competitive and as low as possible to deliver my pieces to their new homes :)
